Eternally Regressing Knight Review and Season 2
A would-be knight with no talent, a day that resets every time he dies and a cast that's up to the task. One of my favourite series.

If you’ve ever spent a whole afternoon replaying the same video game boss until you finally took it down, you’re halfway to understanding Enkrid (the difference being that every attempt costs him his life). Eternally Regressing Knight is one of my favourite series and, with season 2 still undated, there’s no better time to catch up.
What it’s about
Enkrid has dreamed of becoming a knight since he was a boy, but his lack of talent has always kept him from making it come true. One day he dies in battle and wakes up at the start of that same day. With unlimited chances to train and fight, he starts living each day over until he gets past it.
What makes it special
A familiar premise, superb execution. Dying and starting the same day over is nothing new, in manhwa or anywhere else. What’s different is how it’s used: the loop gives Enkrid nothing for free, only time. Every step towards getting stronger is hard-won and deserved, and you celebrate each small victory as if it were your own.
Enkrid. Technically it’s a power fantasy, I won’t deny it. But its protagonist isn’t a hidden genius and he doesn’t get a system that solves everything for him: he has no talent, and he knows it. What he does have is a stubborn streak that survives death itself. A brilliant protagonist.
The cast. It’s my only 10, and not by chance. Enkrid is in very good company: the characters around him hold their own, each with their own weight in the story and their own particular way of driving him up the wall.
Humour, art and action, all 9s. The humour comes mostly from his comrades and their rivalries, and it’s welcome in a series where the protagonist dies this often. An Lee’s art is clean and expressive, and while the fights don’t carry real tension (you know he’ll wake up at the start of the day if he loses), that doesn’t make them any less gripping, and they’re still frantic.
When is it coming back? Season 2
The webtoon started on Naver Webtoon in May 2024, and season 1 wrapped up this year at 112 chapters. In English, WEBTOON published the last one on August 27 (ChapterBrief). Since then, the series has been on hiatus between seasons.
There’s no official date yet. WEBTOON only says on the series page that it will return, and MangaUpdates has it down for early 2027, pending an announcement from Naver. As soon as there’s a date, we’ll cover it in the weekly roundup. In the meantime, we’ll have to do what Enkrid does best: hold out one more day.
Series info
Status: on hiatus between seasons (112 chapters, as of October 2026).

My scores: art 9 · story 9 · characters 10 · humour 9 · action 9. The full series page is here.

If you like it, try…
If what hooks you is dying and starting over, SSS-Class Suicide Hunter takes the loop somewhere much stranger (and gets an anime in January). If you’d rather watch a protagonist grow from nothing, there’s more in my favourite regression manhwa and in the manhwa like Solo Leveling. And if you want every time-loop series, here they are.
My verdict
Few series make you this happy to see their protagonist climb a single step. Enkrid earns every one of them, and the people around him make the journey worth it. A must-read. Start now and you’ll be caught up just in time for season 2.
